EDUCATIONAL OUTDOOR COURSE ON THE SCHOOL SCHEDULE
Give your students a great experience with basic Stand Up Paddle and MTB skills as well as new skills to stay in the nature. The students get an active and fun outdoor experience, where they learn to move on the water and in the forest, while they SUP-surf the waves and pedals off on the bikes. The students are part of an outdoor course that they will never forget, with fun, community and space for learning. There are perfect conditions to frolic with entertaining activities along the coast and water, forest and beach.
THIS IS WHAT A SCHOOL COURSE CAN LOOK LIKE
A school course is typically planned over a period of 4-6 weeks, during which students take part in weekly lessons. In our school course, the students are introduced to basic outdoor skills, where the course gets the students started with Stand Up Paddle and mountain bike. We work with differentiated teaching and focus on the individual student’s prerequisites etc. Students are given materials and equipment at the agreed pick-up location, and there are typically toilet facilities where they can change clothes. The teaching starts with a small intro to the use and handling of material, equipment, safety as well as water and weather conditions. Students are guided in a light warm-up. Then we move on to the beach or to the woods, where the intro course takes place depending on the chosen activity.
On the water, the students are introduced to water habituation, paddle and balance techniques, partner exercises and more. In the woods, braking techniques, gear changes, balance points, attack position / basic position, front wheel lift, rear wheel lift, passive and active pressure control etc. are introduced. The courses focus on creating a safe and comfortable introduction to the SUP and MTB sport, so that students get the best experiences in a safe and secure way. Students have plenty of time to get used to the activities and try out the equipment and its capabilities. There will also be general information about how the students should behave in nature on the premises of nature. Once equipped to navigate the water and the woods, the new skills will be tested on adventures in the area.
MAYBE MORE THAN AN OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
The intro courses enable students to move more safely in nature. They are part of an outdoor course created to pique curiosity and stimulate sensing and learning. Activities, learning and new insights goes together. They can grow as people with nature experiences that can sharpen their presence and the ability to feel themselves. The students are involved through fun challenges, creativity, acts and movement. They can discover new sides of each other that can strengthen the unity of the class. Our outdoor course is a good input as an outward-looking activity in physical education. Here, community, motivation, communication and collaboration skills can be strengthened. With us, your school is offered good facilities, the best equipment and safety at the top. We want to inspire the students to look at the world with new eyes. Your students ‘experience means a lot to us, and we will greatly appreciate your and the students’ feedback after your visit. Feel alive – we do!
SAFE CONDITIONS PROVIDES THE BEST EXPERIENCE
A school course takes place in the areas near Ny Kirstineberg Gods B&B , Guldborg Camping or Maribo Kayak Club . However, activities are also held at other spots depending on the weather conditions. The school process takes place under a safe and secure environment, where weather conditions as well as the students’ prerequisites and ability are taken into account. Water sports activities take place in calm waters, where shallow water areas and protected sea water provide optimal and safe conditions for school courses and beginner courses. Cycling and MTB activities are carried out primarily with cycling on gravel roads, wide forest paths and pieces of less demanding terrain, which also provides optimal and safe conditions for school courses and beginner courses.
We start with a small intro to equipment, safety and techniques, so that students become confident in the chosen outdoor activity. A school course is typically run as a series of 2-hour lessons over a given period. The most important thing is that the students feel in safe hands and that it becomes a fun and educational experience for everyone.
